Legal & / or ethical issues P2 (g)

Copyright laws protect the rights of the author, artist or other originator of a creative work to control when and how his work can be copied and disseminated, and it prevents others from appropriating the work without permission. Copyright protects the ability of someone to profit from his/her creative work.

Music licensing is the licensed use of copyrighted music. A purchaser has limited rights to use and reproduce the recorded work without a separately arranged agreement. The process of music licensing is there to ensure that composers, songwriters and musicians are paid for the work they do.When you hear music in a restaurant, shops, radio etc that music is licensed. So song righters could get fair share of Royalties.
